A place to rest...
The residential facility at Bayanihan focuses on group interaction and individual responsibility. Students learn how to interact with their peers and supervisors. Each child is placed with a roommate in a room that best suits his needs, usually according to age. This allows the children to learn how to interact with others, work together in a team, and, most of all, bond as a family. Each child has his own personal living area, closet, study area and a comfortable bed.
A place to eat...
Malnutrition, a common malady facing many underprivileged children, is particularly widespread in the area. By the grace of God, Bayanihan provides the children with a well-balanced-diet of food items such as vegetables, rice, and a mixture of meats. Through this program, meals are provided 3 times daily. All financial funds comes only by faith in God.
A place to learn...
Children have an opportunity to enroll to our Christian school, Harvesters Baptist Academy. Our goal is to help educate young people so that they are able to read, write and think critically and Biblically. At Harvesters Baptist Academy, we do not fear failure because if handled properly it can be one of the best things that ever happens to us. The key question is not whether one meets with success or failure, but with what one does with that success or failure.
A place to play...
Bayanihan provides appropriate recreational outlets for the children. They are also encourage to join sports activities such as basketball, volleyball, and other group sports. This helps them to create a bond with the other children and their friends. Individual sports or games are also provided for them to enjoy their childhood.
A place of music...
Children are given opportunity to choose to learn music. We teach them musical instruments such as piano, guitar, violin, and banduria (Philippine instrument). Once they learn their chosen instrument, we ensure that they use it for the glory of God. We also let them join the choir and other singing activities.
